Ahead of the release of their new album 'Cavalcade' The Slow Readers Club return with a new single 'I Saw a Ghost'.  The Manchester based four piece produce brooding and mesmeric indie electro, drawing comparisons with Interpol, The Killers and The National and their new single is one of their most powerful offerings yet.

Vocalist Aaron Starkie wrote the song about depression. He explains "It's about appearing to have a normal happy life but carrying something with you that can descend at any moment and make everything appear bleak."

The band's last three singles have enjoyed extensive airplay on BBC 6 Music. They were selected for a coveted slot on Steve Lamacq's Round Table which saw their single 'Don't Mind' awarded a very respectable 7/10 from each guest on the show.  The band have featured twice as XFMs shock of the new, with their last single 'Forever In Your Debt' selected as one of the top 5 singles of the week on 1st Decemeber 2014.

The Slow Readers Club regularly receive rave reviews for their live shows and 2014's highlights include a sold out show at Manchester’s Night and Day and appearances at Tramlines Festival, Party in the Pines and Blackthorn Festival together with support slots for Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Struts, Reverend and the Makers and The Sunshine Underground.

"The Slow Readers Club are without doubt on the cusp of something spectacular and if you haven't immersed yourself in their indie electro sounds by now, then it's high time you paid attention"
Louise Dodgson - CityLife Extra

"We are extremely excited about these guys here at XFM and Forever In Your Debt is always playing on our big indie jukebox"
Mike Walsh - Head of Music, Xfm
One of XFM's Top 5 Songs Of The Week (1 December 2014)

"The Slow Readers Club B-sides are far better than most bands' A-sides."
Louder Than War

"Exceptional... The Slow Readers Club is one of the UK's brightest propositions."
